Who We Are
The Center for Peace Education grew out of a compassionate commitment to teach peace and peaceful norms to Liberians reeling from prolonged civil war.
Today, CPE not only teaches peace and deploys mediators, but we help reduce illiteracy, provide resources that allow vulnerable youth to stay in school, and support more cooperative, healthy, and resilient communities.

CPE is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2009 with offices in Washington, DC, and Monrovia, Liberia. We are dedicated to helping children and youth affected by war and by growing up in conflict-ridden and post-conflict societies to acquire the knowledge and tools they need to coexist peacefully.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see a peaceful Liberia with renewed opportunities for social development secured by enduring peace and compassionate partnerships between our supporters and the country's most needy.
Our Mission
To accelerate the adoption of peaceful norms and foster social cohesion in communities recovering from conflict, partnering with those most in need, irrespective of backgrounds and past combatant affiliations, deploying peace ambassadors, supporting youth-focused reintegration and educational services, and modeling positive and inclusive civic engagement.
